PRESENTATION
The difference between a fill-in, a gap fill, and an overlay.
THEORY COURSE
• What material should be removed, and what material should be left,
• How to fix lifting,
• Understanding densities,
• How to perform a fill-in on an acrygel, gel, or resin/acrylic set,
• How to gain speed,
• How to save on product,
• How to save time when filing,
• How to fill a gap on the sides — for example, going from an almond shape to a square without adding a form,
• Understanding how an e-file works and how to choose one (explanations given for both left- and right-handed technicians),
• Understanding bits based on material, hardness, and shape,
• How to maintain/clean/disinfect e-file bits,
• How to straighten a hooked nail, change its shape, or fix a poorly done shape,
• Knowing how to explain to clients the importance of waiting time between fill-ins (risks, arguments, etc.)
PRACTICAL COURSE
• Demonstration of buffing/filing and nail prep with the different bits,
• Demonstration of gel application (cover, clear),
• Practical application of the tips given for gaining speed,
• Demonstration of filing, straightening, and shape change (on myself). Going from 3 coffin-shaped nails to 1 square, 1 almond, 1 coffin*,
• Fixing a poorly done fill-in on a coffin set with a lot of lifting and no structure (on a model),
• Demonstration of colored gel application as well as gel polish application,
• Demonstration of a rhinestone finishing design,
*NB: This course is in no way a refinement course on the different shapes. The technical skill needed for square, coffin, and almond shapes (using forms, filing, etc.) is not taught in this training. Please refer to the appropriate trainings (available on our site).

NB: This course is done entirely in gel. If you work with acrygel or resin/acrylic, it can still be very helpful for you! Don’t see this as a limitation…

In 2009, I dreamed of learning this craft that fascinated me. Not knowing how to choose the right training centre, I was drawn in by one with a beautiful website and products I recognized, which reassured me.
All I cared about was learning properly and getting to work quickly.
But over the next 3 years, I kept making mistakes I couldn’t understand. I wasn’t happy with my work. I started doubting myself and my future in this industry, even though I was deeply passionate about it.
In 2012, I went to another training centre to learn a new shape. That’s when I realized all my mistakes had an explanation.
I was devastated to have spent so long thinking I wasn’t good enough, when really I had just been given incomplete training from the start.
UNDERSTANDING is the foundation of everything. Once I got it, I was finally succeeding. I was hungry to learn more. So I kept training, no matter the city, the country, the brand.
And here I am today, partnered with a brand myself, with my own website trying to win you over… but now you know that’s not enough to reassure you.
So how do you choose? Whatever the price or length of a course, the real proof is in the results students achieve. Look around you, ask questions.
Even though my beginnings were years ago, the memory stays with me every day. My goal through every course I teach, beginner or advanced, is to share my passion and give you the solid foundations that will save you from ever feeling like giving up or doubting yourself.
